Introduction

Welcome to CashWise. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what CashWise collects, who it is shared with, and why, when you use our mobile application.

CashWise has no bank connection. We never ask for, receive, or store your online banking credentials, and the app cannot import transactions from your bank. Every figure in CashWise is one you entered yourself.

Data we collect

• Account information. If you sign in, we receive your email address and display name from Google or Apple. You can also use CashWise as a guest, with no account at all — in that case your data stays on your device and is not sent to us.
• Financial data you enter. Transactions, amounts, descriptions, categories, accounts, budgets and recurring payments. This is stored on your device and, when you are signed in, synchronised to your account so your own devices stay up to date.
• App settings. Language, currency, theme and notification preferences.
• Diagnostics and usage. Crash reports and basic usage events, used to find bugs and understand which features are used. These are not linked to your transaction data.
• Subscription status. Whether you have an active Premium subscription. We never receive your payment card details — payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles or to target advertising.

Third-party services

CashWise relies on the following services, each for a specific purpose:

• Supabase — our cloud database and authentication. When you sync, your data is stored and transmitted through Supabase.
• Google Gemini (Google AI) — powers the AI features: insight cards, written summaries, the in-app assistant, and interpreting voice entries. To produce these, the relevant figures and transaction descriptions are sent to Google's API and the result is returned to you. This happens only when an AI feature runs, and the data is sent to generate that answer — not to advertise to you.
• Firebase (Google) — Crashlytics for crash diagnostics, Analytics for aggregate usage statistics, and Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications.
• RevenueCat — manages subscription status and validates purchases with the app stores.
• Apple and Google — sign-in, and all payment processing for subscriptions.

We ensure that our third-party infrastructure adheres to strict, industry-recognized data protection standards.

Voice entry

When you log an expense by voice, the speech is transcribed by your device's own speech recognition. Depending on your device and its settings, that transcription may be performed by Apple or Google as part of the operating system, under their privacy policies. CashWise receives only the resulting text, which is then interpreted as described above. We do not record or store audio.

Security

The security of your personal and financial data is extremely important to us. We employ industry-standard security measures, including data encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your information. Your data is accessible only to your own account. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is structurally 100% secure.

Retention and deleting your data

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time — see Request Account Deletion for the steps and timescales. Deleting the app alone removes the copy on your device but not data already synchronised to your account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. CashWise can export your full history to CSV or PDF from within the app at any time. To make any other request, contact us at the address below.

Children

CashWise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated in the app.
